Coach the Coach
Setup
Furball finds
Coach's box on the sidelines and climbs in. Coach briefly explains the box of
memories from when he was a kid, then leaves when he remembers that there is
still a photo of him with his friends somewhere around. Vince notices a small
beam of light coming from the box and goes digging for Furball. He calls out as
he gets sucked in, the gang tries to rescue him be get pulled in themselves.
BAM- 1965ish, sepia toned world of Coach’s memories. The gang and Furball find
Kid Coach alone on the field Not playing baseball. He lacks all the Round the
Bases qualities so they agree to help him.
Confidence
The first step to doing anything is confidence, Vince
explains. Try baseball, you might like it.
Reading
Mikey drops a thick stack or books next to Kid. “Read all of
these so you can be really knowledgable and Coach kids someday-“ He whispers to
Luisa that he found them in the box so he has to read them or he won’t turn out
the same. She corrects Mikey’s direction to the Kid and explains that a strong
mind helps a strong body.
Integrity
Brad is up to bat and strikes out in 3 quick takes as Kid watches. Kid is worried the Brad is crushed but shows up with a smile on his and tells him that he always plays his best so he has nothing to regret - thats integrity...
Teamwork
Luisa and Mikey quickly, and comicly, rush Kid to the outfield and position his arm in the air and a smile. His nervously catches the ball, celebrates, and tries to throw for first but comes up short. Luisa explains teamwork.
violence prevention
Mikey calls for snacktime. Kid is far in the outfield anx arrives late to find an empty tray. He gets A LITTLE upset and begins to scold the others for eating everything but Mikey shows up with another try and explains that violence is npt how a team gets things done.
healthy eating
Kid approaches new tray but is disappointed that they are oranges. Mikey explains that they are one of the best things he can eat while playing sports. He tries one, orange slice smile, everyone has a laugh.
Short montage of having fun, playing ball, ending with downshot of kids laying in grass in a circle.
leadership
Kid thanks them and they tell him about being a leader. They say they have to go and jump back through the box.
conclusion
The gang piles out of the box all at once. Coach comes up, asks where theyve been and shows them the picture of him as a kid with his friends, which happens to be of them.

you did a wonderful job with the script chris, really appreciate it. I just hope its not too long or going over 3 minutes since we have to think of the incuts for the baseball players
As I remember it from class, the 3-4 minutes of animation limitation does not include the in-cuts. I sectioned out each of the major beats to be followed by a Round The Base incut.
