Storyboards

Hey there. Rogernald here. If I remember correctly we were supposed to post our storyboards up here before Thursday right? Well, here they are. I haven't been able to change anything yet, but I will hopefully have some new ones ready before this weekend.

Character Sketches + Reference

So I thought I'd share some older images of the Junior Giants, but apparently there's not a whole lot more that's new from before. There ARE a few kids and some coaches in the lineup. Maybe I'll use those when putting some adults on model.

Also is some original ref of a little league field. It seems that real (east bay) little league dugouts are just a series of fences. This may or may not influence what our fantasy field will look like.

New Segment

The latter part of the new segment. I took time out to get a pass done right after class. Haven't added tone yet.

-Brian S.

"Brad walks over to the Alien trying to gather itself up. He extends a hand offering to help the Alien off the ground. Confused, the Alien accepts BRADS help, but quickly runs off. BRAD sighs to himself and pulls a Take Me Out to the Ball Game Card out of his pocket."

Weekly Notes - Junior Giants

Weekly Notes: 1st March.

Please upload pdfs of all your work to the blog as soon as possible. I will be using them for critique with the Director later in the week.

Steph:
Lose the tree and the confusion from the first shot.
Establish the fact that they are outside the field.
Merge the Mikey and the Vince shot together.
Not sure about the Pull out.
Have more reaction from Vince and Mikey when stuff happens.
Tilt down the long shots to show more of the field. Tracking move up.
Possibly try to merge the tracking shot and the meet up shot.
Decide on the type of dug-out.

Brian:
Needs Establishing shot of the Aliens - Steph where's your gag~!?
Other Alien gag with the fighting for the bat.
We need a catcher~!
Home plate is to the right, move the character.
Big gestural pose of the Alien shouting out.
Keep Luisa in the moment.
Rack focus into the VPP and Alien

Andrew:
No real change.
Little too dramatic on te Brad reaction.
Make him more direct (defiant) in his reaction to the Alien.
Good energy on the ball shots.

Rusty:
Good upshot.
Good pan out.
Lots of negative space in the frame.
The scale of the dug-outs are too big.
Take out any crazy foreshadowing - if you want a low angle shot keep it rough.
The new part of the script. Keep the gag in the frame.
Split the last scene. Brian? Steph?

Eli:
Little confused about the flashes~! Too big. Keep it a play park environment.
Holds ears and runs off a little.
The target is COOL~!
The cut to the board is too rigid and more like a Beat Board.
Let's keep the energy throughout.
The rough drawings are too rough when we can't differentiate between characters.

Davin:
Needs to get back onto the third portion of the script.
Eli's Alien Pitching Machine works well in this context.
Adding the personality to the machine. Great
Alien jaw dropping is good.
The reverse shot of the aliens watching the ball is good but clarify the 3/4 pose a little. Open up the scene a little.
Work with the staging and location.

Chris:
Stand-by Fruit and Veggie magnets
Great crash zoom. Excellent pose on Mikey scared.
Good overhead shot. Excellent poses and dissolve on the finale of the sequence.
Need to clarify the Alien Pitching Machine - Which one?
Flip the Alien Pitching or the batter.
ALL CHARACTERS BATTING GET HELMETS~!!!!
Where is your Seven-fingered gag mate?
Great reveal on the machine~!

Thanh:
Great, great, great use of the soda and foods~!
Excellent use of performance in the dialogue.
Not sure about the long shot of the Aliens
Excellent link tothe clunky dialogue.
High angle shot works but only once.
