"In His Shoes"
Junior Giants 2014
1: Opens to kids getting ready for the game
2: Coach comes over and talks to them,
Coach: Mikey! You are up first I want you to start the game today.
3: Mikey seems shy and uncomfortable, so he hesitates
4: Brad doesn’t look pleased
5: He walks up to him and says,
-You have it so easy. I wish I could start the game.
6: Mikey looks even more nervous and says,
-Me? It’s you who have it easy. Sometimes I wish I could switch places with you.
7: Furball overhears them.
8:He looks disappointed, but he comes up with an idea.
9: Kids are still talking about who is luckier than the other one
10: Louisa and Vince are trying to end the discussion so they can start the game
11: Furbal quickly runs to the pitching machine.
12: He touches the machine with his hand (that is glowing now) and changes it
13: Then he runs and stops the argument
14: They finally start the game
15: Louisa starts the pitching machine
16: magic ball flies to Mikey
17: He looks nervous
18: The glowing ball hits the bat
19: energy zaps Mikey
20: The ball flies to Brad and he catches it
21: some sort of magic happens and they switch bodies causes them to fell on the ground
22: Louisa looks at vince and as he runs towards them she says,
Louisa: Did you see that?
23: Vince who is shocked runs toward them and they both help them up
24: Mikey and Brad feel disoriented, and dizzy
Brad: Guys I don’t feel so good
25: He had mikey’s voice so everyone Is very confused,
26: Furbal runs t them and explains what he did and why he did it, telling them they can only turn back
to their old selves if they learn to be in the other’s shoes.
27: Kids huddled together
28: They decide to go with it without coach knowing, because then he might stop furball from playing
with them again.
29: A shadow is cast over them by coach, they look up him
Coach: Come on guys! Why aren’t you playing?
30: Game is about to start again
31: Kids are visibly nervous
32: Coach is confused but doesn't push further.
33: Mikey (Brad) grabs his bat and says,
-This is great, I get to start the game.
34:He hits the ball and the game began
35: Cut to the later in the day.
36: Louisa makes an order for Mikey (Brad) to be up to bat again
37: But Mikey (Brad) was not fast enough to reach second before being tagged out.
38: Mikey (Brad) is upset with himself for being unable to perform like he usually does
39: When Brad (Mikey) runs by him , he is fast and is so energetic,
Brad (Mikey): Haha…Told you, you have it easier.
40: Mikey (Brad) gets frustrated and tries to push Brad(Mikey)
41: Furball, Vince and Louisa runs towards them
42: They stop them and Vince reminds Mikey (Brad) that he can’t be violent with his friends.
42: Then Vince walks away with Brad (Mikey), and tells him about integrity and how he should have it
but he shouldn’t be cocky.
43: After their talk Brad (Mikey) feels bad for what he has done to Mikey (Brad)
44: Louisa is trying to help Mikey (Brad)
45: She offers him an apple as a healthy snack
46: Mikey (Brad) need to take charge at some point but he can’t because he is not confident like before
47: So Louisa gives him advice about leadership
48: Brad (Mikey) who feels bad, gives him a pep talk
-Its ok to feel scared some times but you should trust yourself. That’s what you guys always tell
49:Every one smiles and Mikey (Brad) who feels better now does a great job for the rest of the day
50 : A little Later that day, the kids are sitting in the dugout.
51: Brad (Mikey) apologizes to Mikey (Brad) and says he is sorry and how he realizes it’s not so easy to
be him either because people expect a lot from him
52: Mikey (Brad) says he is sorry too,
-I’m sorry for being mean to you soemtimes.
53: Furball overhears this and steps into the group with the magic baseball which begins to glow.
54: The ball lets loose a burst of light as Mikey and brad step up
55: The light fades and the kids are disorientated but returned to their normal bodies.
56: coach walks up to the kids happy to see them in good spirits finally but confused about that game.
57: The kids say they had just gotten over a streak of bad games together.
58: Furball accidentally drops the magic baseball. and goes off screen to pick it up
59: The ball rolls to coaches feet and picks up the ball to examine it.
60: The kids look off screen as a bright flash of light appears
61: Coaches and Furball's figures step into the foreground. Coach gets ready to wrap thigns up for the
day
62: Coach and furball are seen headed to the bus as the kids look on, coach and furball noticeably have
changed places but Coach does not notice.
63: the kids laugh, the end.
Option 2 Ending:
57: Kids decide they have to tell the coach the truth. (Honesty)
58: He is curious so he grabs the ball as the kids and furbal scream,
-Nooooo
59: Cut to them walking to the bus
60: Coach and Furball are now switched.

Jr. Giants Promo Script - Team: Los Gigantes
Act 1:
The bus pulls up to the field and the Jr. Giants run out
onto the field
Brad - "You guys ready for Spring Training?"
Luisa - "yeah, It's great to get back outside and exercising!"
Mikey - "Hey look, here comes furball!"
Furball dashes over to the group and gives Vince a high five.
Vince - "Nice! you ready to throw the ball around again
Furball?"
Furball nods vigorously and then points over to third
base. We see the furball family jumping out of the ground and coming toward the
Jr. Giants. Father Furball is too big and gets stuck a bit in the hole.
Coach - "It'll be great to have some more people to practice
with! Are you sure they'll be up for it Furball?"
Furball looks over his shoulder to see his family generally tired,
tripping over bases, and confused (I don't know have fun with this scene)
Furball looks worried but nods his head. Coach says, "Alright,
let's play ball!"
And the Furball family spring into action without any directions on
how to play baseball. Dad Furball barking random commands at the family, Mom
Furball swings the bat in the air, at nothing and the twins put everything
& anything in their mouths because they are hungry.
The Jr. Giants look on in shock and say to one another and Vince
says, "We got alot of work to do."
Act 2:
1) [integrity & violence] Coach watches Pa Furball show try
to show proper batting technique to bro furball, but misses. He tross
the bat down in angry and coach comes up to him.
Coach - "Part of being a Jr. Giant is staying cool under
pressure. And remember that baseball is suppose to be fun!"
Pa Furball smiles and hands sis furball the bat and mimes hitting a
pitch.
2) [education & health] Bro and Sis are fighting over a bottle
of power sports drink. Mikey and Brad walk up.
Mikey " It may look good on the outside but these drinks are
full of unhealthy stuff!"
Brad - "yeah, reading the label and healthy eating go
hand in hand."
(using the scenes of Brad teaching the kids about apples etc)
3) [confidence] "Ma furball is at bat with Luisa at the
pitching machine. She swings and misses terribly. she slumps dejectedly.
Luisa - "Don't worry about it. Every misses ball is just a
chance to get better!"
Ma Furball stands up and hits a line dive to Mikey who gets knocked
over catching the ball. Ma Furball jumps and waves for luisa to send another
ball.
4) [teamwork] VInce is trowing balls to the twins to help with their
catching. But they crash info each other.
Vince - "if you guys can set up a plan to work together then
you'll make the team stronger."
The next shot is vince throwing a ball and the twins catch it by
having sis cath the ball while bro runs around with her sitting on top of him.
Act 3:
Everyone is relaxing as the sun is going down
Vince to Furball "wow, your family has really improved a
lot!"
Coach "If I didn't know any better I'd say they would be great
additions to the Jr. Giants!"
Luisa " yeah, look at everything they learned today (procedes
to recap the lessons learned)"
Coach - "At this rate we'll be ready for the regular season in
no time!"
The kids walk back to the bus and the Furball family jump back into
the cave.

I was at Great America today with my daughter and came across one of their kids shows (VALID EXCUSE). Is this a very Charlie Brown Jr Giants?
I now know what Team Luscious is missing: poor singing and an unresponsive audience...

Team Luscious Plan and Script
Lesie, here is the more flushed out story. We agreed that you are a master of thumbnails and would work up thumbs for Krista and I to clean up.
Let us knoe your schedule for working on this so we csn plan accordingly.
Jr Giants - Coach the Coach script
It opens with Furball crawling out of his home under 3rd base and sneaking along the ground until he comes to a box. The box contains coaches childhood baseball junk and he quickly Hops inside. He pops up from the box wearing a sweater and holding the kid coach photograph. Coach begins to speak to the whole gang about the photograph and his box of giants memories.
Once coach is done explaining ths box, he helps Furball remove Woollen sweater and he gets charged with static electricity. Furball is puffed up and spiky and when he goes to hand the photo back to coach, that's when the magic electricity /flash /fireworks start to happen. Coach is transformed back into a child. I think this should be shot in a fun way where it's kind of like The Incredible Hulk where there's a extreme close ups of body parts enlarging in size until the big reveal of coach as a kid. And maybe another funny thing is he still has his goatee until the very end of the transformation and it poofs of his face.
kid coach freaks out a little bit as there has been some wild change. The other kids come over to see what's going on and Furball explains in speedy monster Babbel that's that is coach. The gang thinks this is fun and wants to play baseball but Coach isn't a confident and isn't sure that he will be any good. Mikey asks if he knows the game at all and Coach responds that he does because he's read a lot of books about baseball and mentions one of his favorite baseball old timey heroes.
The gang convinces him that he will do fine since he knows the gist of the game and take him to the outfield where they try to form his frown into a smile and stick his glove in the air. Marco gives him a quick speech about confidence.
Luissa is batting and cracks a pop fly which goes right into Kid's glove. Kid is celebrating that he was able to catch the ball and forgets that he still needs to make the play at first base. The other kids in the infield are screaming for him to throw the ball in, he tries to throw it all the way to first instead of relaying it to 2nd and the throw comes up way too short, ruining the play. Louisa explains to him about teamwork.
One of the other kids calls for snack time at home plate. Kid coach is delayed in the outfield by furball who is trying to get him to touch the picture again in order to change him back. Kid coach wants nothing to do with him and calls him a Bad Kitty. By the time kid makes it to the snack area all the snacks are gone. He loses temper because he was so hungry ands knocks over the empty tray, napkins flying everywhere. One of the kids explains to Coach about teams don't solve their problem with violence. Mikey comes out with a second tray of snacks everything is OK.
Kid rushes over enthusiasticly but is disappointed to find that they are orange slices he asks if they can have cookies or eat junk from the vending machine instead but Marco explains how oranges are one of the best and healthiest foods they can have for performing at their peak during baseball. Kid is convinced to try the orange slices but looks terrified. He turns his back to the group and motions as if he is eating it. The gang waits in anticipation, until he finally turned around and reveals his orange slice smile. The gang has a great laugh.
Kid tells them that's he appreciates their integrity for staying positive and a being a good team because he read that this is essential for any winning baseball team. The gang responds that they couldn't have done it without their coach's leadership.
It's time to go and they all head of the field. Kid Coach lags a little with furball and rubs his head mentioning to himself that "this coach sounds like a great guy." The rubbing has caused some static electricity with furball and Kid gets some magic in the process returning him back to you adult coach as he is walking out of frame.
Adult coach rejoins the group as they are walking off field in the distance and says something about getting old and not knowing where the time goes.

Coach The Coach - gameplan
-Kid Coach's confidence - One of the gang positions Kid's arm in the air to catch and maybe positions a smile on his face with the other hand.
-Kid's throw comes up short - Ball in the FG, gang disappointed or surprised in mid, Kid in BG.
-Snack Break - Kid get angry when he thinks he missed out on snack.
- Healthy orange snack - Gang with orange slice smiles
- Kid playing like a pro
- Re-Transformation - Kid is restored to his Adulthood but lacks memory of what just happened.
-Picture of Kid Coach and the Gang on the ground in the FG and Adult Coach in the BG petting Furball- "Good kitty."
So, there's 10. Let me know your thoughts.
As far as keeping the beat boards consistent, we should have one person do the line drawing, one do BGs, one person do Color and rendering. Krista and I tried this last class and it seemed to flow pretty well.
