I really did time myself for 2 hours, seeing how long it took me to make this...and it does take a while especially if I have to research things, think of the story and than finalize it.

My Memory Assignment
Hi, I had this a while ago but I finally got onto the blog and remembered now to put it up! :)
I really did time myself for 2 hours, seeing how long it took me to make this...and it does take a while especially if I have to research things, think of the story and than finalize it.

Famous Frames
Ernesto Melo:
I enjoyed looking at Ernesto Melo’s work. What got my
attention the most was the simple designs and the confident line work in his
boards; which reminded me of the animations I grew up with, like The Iron
Giant (1999). He uses a variety of interesting camera angels and
compliments it with explicit rendering. There are quality examples in the Animal folder;
page number 2 is my favorite. Drawings on this page are very simple, but the
characters are very believable. The expressions on the sheep’s faces, or the
way that the dog is looking in the camera are the details that make Ernesto
Melo’s work very strong. His choice of color palette is also brilliant. His
environment folder has some nice coloring.
I wanted to see more of his artworks so I found his blog. There are more examples of his artwork on that:

The artist I chose from Famous Frames is Philippe Collot, who
worked the storyboards on the Chevrolet and Blue Moon Beer commercials. I chose him because his work, though it did
not stand out as much...there was still something about his dynamic angles used
in the car one and sketchiness that really made me feel like it was a rough but
great storyboard. They are a bit sketchy
but still clear to read for the car one, and the beer one is colored and done
with excellent beat boards that shows he can both draw and color if
needed. I know my coloring skills are
very weak, so I admire that he can not only color his work, but can also do the
traditional type style and still show how powerful it is whether it is toned or
not.
Though I can’t say his work is distinctive, his line quality is
very nice and can be both fine and scratchy. But when he colors it shows his he
can make it clean and use the colors to really pop out the boards. That is
another thing I have to work on, refining my lines and making sure they are not
always sketchy looking.
BlueBird 3 Rendered Boards
Hello Everyone! It took a while but I am on the blog! :D Here are the re-done rendered boards I had to do for he Bluebird project
It takes a lot to do realistic or more toned stuff, so please anyone advice or help is always welcomed to make these better! Thank

FamousFrames – Mark Millicent
Famous Frames – Artist: Mark Millicent
At first glance, what I
like most about Mike Millicent’s style is the strong emphases on his line work,
which is really the foundation of all his drawings. Then with color, he comes
with loose strokes similar to using markers, but you can tell most of his work
is digitally colored. I really like the vivid colors and simplified rendering
he’s chosen to stick with in which creates his distinct style. Not too overly
rendered that is quick to produce. What I also like about his style is in his
overall composition choices, he keeps a consist balance of space in every one
of his drawings that is very pleasant to the eye. Lastly, I really enjoy seeing
all the projects he’s done using animals.
