Jonathan Gesinski has a great style to his boards. Every panel is readable by his drawing style and his use of varied shots and angles. His faces aren't super detailed, but drawn in a way where you can identify their expression. The downside of his work is that there is no color in his boards, but he solves that very quickly. His use of shadow helps the viewer distinguish where the character is and it's action. In every shot there are different sizes of line surrounding the character, this show depth and weight; and makes the background more lively without the use of color.
I chose this storyboard artist because I recognized the movie he did the boards for, Twelve Rounds. Although the movie was pretty bad, it had tons of action. Gesinski displays it perfectly in the boards by showing different camera angles to show emotion. It starts with the character, played by John Cena running and jumping through buildings, eventually thrown into an car chase. You don't get bored of the chase because he adds alot of intense closeups and wide shots in to the scenes. My favorite panels would have to be the trolly crashing through everything. It ends with alot of suspense when it comes after two people, he displays this greatly with a rack focus.
His drawing style is very dynamic and is very expressive with his use of different type of line. That is something I hope to improve upon. I'm not use to applying color to boards so varying lines and shapes is vital when trying to add depth and weight without color.
